Fully Rated: Steam Deck reveals more with Elgato Facecam

Totally Rated provides reviews and opinions on what's hot and what's not in the world of technology and gaming. Bringing together some of the industry's leading titles, we bring you the real voices of those who have reviewed and rated the latest games and products on the market.

In this week's episode, Dead Space is getting a remake, Elgato announces a new Facecam, and could Steam Deck be the ultimate industry disruptor?

Last week, EA Play revealed that a remake of its critically acclaimed horror series Dead Space is in the works. This was not the biggest surprise of the event, as it had been rumored for some time. The brief CGI reveal suggested that the game was further away than many fans had hoped. However, EA's press release did reveal what the "Dead Space" remake will be: "Rebuilt from the ground up with the Frostbite engine for next-gen consoles.

At Tech, Elgato announced an all-new Facecam this week. Good news for experienced streamers, but for others the price may be prohibitive.

TechRadar's Jess Weatherbed writes, "The Elgato Facecam fills a gap in Elgato's existing product line that it markets to streamers and content creators, minimizing disappointment."

For Weatherbed, the Facecam is cheaper than buying a DSLR camera, but the lack of an on-board microphone and autofocus may still make it expensive for first-time streamers.

"Unlike some competing products, it accurately captures the features that streamers actually want and is a cheaper investment than buying a DSLR and Cam Link.

"If you're looking for a webcam to start a Twitch channel and can afford it, Facecam is our top recommendation right now.

And finally, earlier this month, Valve announced a new handheld computer, the Steam Deck.

Gamers can play the latest Steam titles on the go and resume their favorite PC games where they left off. The Steam Deck can also be docked and played on a monitor or TV for a more traditional console-like experience.

The official dock, sold separately, connects the Steam Deck to the wired Internet and allows for USB peripherals to power and charge the device, essentially turning the Steam Deck into a desktop PC.

The Steam Deck comes in three different price ranges, with different amounts of storage and different types of hard drives.

New Totally Rated episodes are delivered weekly.
