Bad news for those hoping for a "Cursed" Season 2.

"Cursed" is based on the graphic novel by Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler. The story is a retelling of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of Nimue (Katherine Langford), a mysteriously gifted young heroine destined to become the powerful and tragic Lady of the Lake. [After her mother's death, Nimue finds an unlikely partner in the young mercenary Arthur (Devon Terrell) and embarks on a journey to find the sorcerer Merlin (Gustav Skarsgard) and deliver the ancient sword Excalibur.

Season 1, which premiered in July 2020, portrays Nimue as a symbol of courage and defiance against a fearsome religious sect known as the Red Paladins and the King Uther who is complicit in their actions.

Cursed's termination follows Netflix's cancellation of four other shows. This string of cancellations by the streaming operator has caused people to wonder if they should bother to start watching Netflix series.

The first season ended with a huge cliffhanger, so The Damned Season 2 would have had to deal with it immediately: is Nimue dead?

In the finale, Nimue, with the help of Morgana, once again wielded Excalibur to defeat the evil Father Carden. The two women fled the Red Paladin across a stone bridge, but Sister Iris was waiting for Nimue. She shot Nimue as she fell into the river.

Merlin, enraged by his daughter's (apparent) death, struck the Red Paladins with lightning. Then, using the magic of Excalibur, Merlin fled with Morgana.

Elsewhere, the Weeping Monk turned on the Red Paladins and saved Lis (Billy Jenkins), whose real name is Percival. The Weeping Monk's real name? Lancelot!

Arthur and the Fae were saved by a Red Spear (Bella Dane) who calls herself Guinevere - everyone knows the romantic legend of Arthur and Guinevere. Trouble seemed to be waiting for Arthur and Nimue. But was Nimue alive?

All indications were yes. The first season opened with a shot of a bloodied and injured Nimue struggling in the water, and the finale showed how it happened. But she was still moving. And she had magic! She seemed to find a way to save herself, but she was separated from Arthur, Merlin, and her other friends.

"Cursed Season 2" could have followed the formula of other fantasy dramas in which the main "gang" is divided into parts. Each group would go off on their own adventures, and eventually they would all meet up for a big battle.

Unfortunately, "Cursed Season 2" will not air, so fans will never know what happened.
