Love is Blind Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Love is Blind Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Netflix has "I do" for "Love Is Blind" Season 2.

Last year, Season 1 created quite a buzz on social media with its insane premise of couples meeting and getting engaged without ever meeting each other. In the wedding finale episode, two couples (Lauren and Cameron and Amber and Burnett) were married. The rest of the Love is Blind cast did not say "I do." However, the Love is Blind reunion special revealed that one couple had reunited after a failed wedding.

The spin-off special "Love Is Blind": After the Altar" follows up with the cast of Season 1 and checks in on Lauren/Cameron and Amber/Barnett's marriage.

But what about a new season of this addictive show (with celebrity fans including Chrissy Teigen and Shonda Rhimes) Netflix has ordered a Season 2 and will return with a new cast, more drama, and more heartbreak.

Here's everything you need to know about "Love is Blind" Season 2.

Good news, podpeople: Netflix has renewed "Love is Blind" Season 2: ...... And "Love is Blind" Season 3! Yes, the streaming service has renewed "Love is Blind" for two more seasons.

But when will "Love is Blind" Season 2 premiere? That's where the bad news comes in. The coronavirus outbreak has delayed many film and television productions, including "Love Is Blind" Season 2.

We have not yet received word that Netflix has begun filming, but expect to see Season 2 by the end of 2021.

Netflix held online casting for "Love is Blind" Season 2 in Chicago.

This represents a change from Season 1, which drew cast members from the Atlanta area.

Some fans hope that the Season 1 cast will return for Season 2, but that seems unlikely. The new cast members for Season 2 should know who they are and what they look like, which is completely contrary to the premise of the show.

Season 2 of "Love is Blind" will most likely keep the same format as season 1, although some elements may be added.

"Love is Blind" is a serious twist on the typical dating reality series, a sort of cross between "The Bachelor" and "Married at First Sight." Netflix has 15 men and women are given speed-dating dates, but none of them can physically see each other. Instead, the men and women enter connected pods and talk to each other through walls.

The first date lasts seven to ten minutes, but after that the cast has complete control. They can choose who they go on dates with and how long they spend together.

Then, after 10 days of pod dating, the man can propose to the woman. If she accepts, they can finally meet in person.

The engaged couple then goes to Mexico for a romantic vacation. They stay at the same resort, which forces them to meet some of the other people they dated while in the pod.

When the vacation is over, the couples move into the same housing complex. Each engaged couple gets used to living with each other, meets the other's family and friends, and learns about the other's background and finances.

Then comes the wedding day, and each couple faces each other at the altar and decides to marry in order to separate.

I would like to see a longer season of "Love is Blind" Season 2, following more couples. Fun fact: In Season 1, eight couples got engaged, but the show only focused on six (the two that were not included ended up not getting married).
