Lupin Season 3: Everything We Know So Far

Lupin Season 3: Everything We Know So Far

Lupin Worried about holding Season 3. Rest assured, we'll be there. The gentleman spy will be back for more action, even though the Part 2 finale made a somewhat definitive impression.

Netflix has not officially confirmed the news, but if it doesn't happen, it is doubtful that an announcement from star Omar Sy (see below) will occur, and it is likely that we will see Arsene Lupin and the rest of the crew again in the near future.

"Lupin" (currently one of the best shows on Netflix) follows the heist-filled adventures of con man Assan Diop (Omar Sy), inspired by master thief Arsène Lupin, created by author Maurice Leblanc in his turn-of-the-century novel.

In parts one and two, Assan attempts to avenge his late father, who was falsely accused of stealing a valuable necklace from his employer, the Pellegrini family. The thief targets the diabolical patriarch Hubert Pellegrini (Hervé Pierre) while ensuring the safety of his son Raoul (Étienne Simon) and his former lover Claire (Ludivine Sagnier).

While there is considerably less information to look forward to in another season, the few details that are known are worth noting. Here is what we know so far about Lupin Season 3.

Lead actor Omar Sy recently revealed that the French-language heist thriller will return in "Lupin" Season 3." We have nothing to hide. Lupin Part 3 is confirmed," he tweeted in May, to the delight of fans around the world.

Netflix has yet to announce when Lupin season 3 will begin airing, but series co-creator George Kay told RadioTimes.com in a January 2021 interview that new episodes will likely be released in 2022. That's a pretty broad frame of reference, that's for sure.

"We are working on the storyline. Because the reaction to the first five episodes suggests that there is a good chance that [part 3] will be released next year, Kay said at the time.

Given the huge success of Season 2, it is not surprising that a follow-up is in the works.

Nothing is known about when season 3 of Lupin will begin filming, or if production on new episodes has even begun yet. However, it is possible that photos and videos from the set will be uploaded to social media once production begins. It is also possible that episodes are still being written or that casting and location scouting are still in progress.

Lupin's first and second seasons each had five episodes, so it stands to reason that season three will be no different. Lupin has managed to pack so much story into a short season that it is unlikely that they will extend it in the future, but it is possible.

Without Omar Sy, there would be no Lupin, so there is no way the show will be revived without him as Athan. After all, as he previously revealed to The Hollywood Reporter, the role has always been a dream for him.

"For us, it's a classic book, and he's the man. For an actor, he's like the best toy. Because with him you can do anything. He gave me the chance to do everything. I can be fanny. There is drama. There is action. All with the same character," said Saïs, speaking of his love for the popular French story.

The rest of the cast has yet to be confirmed. However, Claire (Ludivine Sagnier) and her two sons Raoul (Etienne Simon) are likely to return, as is Assane's best friend Benjamin (Antoine Guy).

It is unclear if we will see Detective Ghedira (Soufiane Guerrab), Lieutenant Sofia Belkacem (Shirine Boutella), and Lieutenant Romain Roget (Vincent Londez), but it is certainly possible.

Given that Pelligrini's (Hervé Pierre) guilt was finally revealed by Atherne at the end of Season 2, it is possible that he will be permanently jailed and will not play a major role in future episodes. [If Pellegrini were to get out of his predicament, he could harbor a serious grudge against Assane. It is unlikely, but possible.

Nevertheless, Asane is currently in hiding, leaving Claire and Raoul behind. Whatever it is, it is likely to be new and exciting, especially since showrunner George Kay has revealed that the new episodes will serve as a sort of reboot of the series.

There has also been talk of a possible crossover with Sherlock, "To be honest, there have been [discussions]," Kay told Radio Times. '"To be really honest, [there have been] discussions," Kay told Radio Times. I think a lot of fans would be happy about that.

There is no suggestion that Lupin season 3 will be the final film. In fact, Kay recently expressed hope that he will continue to have the opportunity to play such a dynamic character.

"We'll see what Netflix wants to do with this franchise," he said in an interview with Deadline.

"The first bet we won was to bring this character to life and create a franchise. The franchise exists and now it's up to Netflix what they want to do with it. We'll see what they propose, but this character is a lot of fun and one we would revisit tomorrow if we could." [Few things are bigger than "Stranger Things" Season 4. This winter will bring "Cobra Kai" Season 4, "You" Season 3, and "The Witcher" Season 2.

Further ahead are "Emily in Paris" Season 2, "Sex Education" Season 3, "Virgin River" Season 3, and "Elite" Season 5.
