Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 just leaked completely on Amazon — Price, release date and features

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is likely to be released on August 27, as Amazon Canada has listed the unannounced smartwatch for pre-order on its website.

We expect the next Samsung smartwatch to be revealed at the summer Unpacked event, rumored to be held on August 11. Although this list has since been removed, it lends credence to these rumors. It has also been revealed that the Galaxy Watch 4 will be priced at $346, at least in Canada.

According to the Amazon listing shared below, the Galaxy Watch 4 will indeed have the design teased in the unofficial renderings. It appears to have a rounded face with two rounded rectangular buttons on the right side of the body and what appears to be a silicone strap.

Design-wise, the Galaxy Watch 4 is an evolution of Samsung's Galaxy Watch 3, placing second on our best smartwatches list behind the unyielding Apple Watch Series 6. This model appears to lack a physical rotating bezel - a fan favorite feature that we are sad to see Samsung retire.

That said, this smartwatch may be an evolution of Samsung's Galaxy Watch Active 2. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 4 is rumored to be released alongside the Classic version, but the Galaxy Watch 4 may be just one next-generation wearable.

Furthermore, the $346.82 is an odd price, which translates to about $277 in US dollars. This is an appropriate price point for the Galaxy Watch Active model or a slimmed-down version for comfort during a workout. The bulkier Galaxy Watch Watch 3, which made a fashion statement with the aforementioned bezel and elevated design details, started at $399.

Where the Galaxy Watch 4 seems to shine is under its casing. The Amazon listing seems to confirm rumors that Samsung's smartwatch will feature "body composition analysis."

We are interested to see which metrics this Galaxy Watch can measure from the wrist. If it works like some of the best smart scales, it may be able to read body mass index (BMI), body fat percentage, and muscle mass.

The Galaxy Watch 4 also has the standard features of top smartwatches: advanced sleep tracking, VO2 Max tracking, and blood oxygen and heart rate monitoring. Other specs include GPS, Bluetooth, near field communication, and Wi-Fi connectivity, all of which are fairly standard for a $300+ smartwatch.

If Amazon's listing is accurate, Samsung's Galaxy Watch 4 is a feature-packed smartwatch and a solid successor to the Galaxy Watch 3. Whether it can compete with the Apple Watch remains to be seen. Incidentally, we have not heard that the Apple Watch 7 will include a body composition analysis feature.

More will be revealed at the next Unpacked event, where Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are also expected to be unveiled.
