Samsung Galaxy Z-Fold and Z-Flip 3 prices just tip— and that's good news

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are coming. And if the latest rumors are to be believed, the prices of these two new foldable phones are also becoming quite visible.

Thanks to a blog entry on Naver, the Z Fold 3 and Z Fold 2 will likely be more affordable this time around.

According to the blog entry, the Z Fold 3 will be priced between 1.9 and 1.99 million won in Korea, which is between $1,660 and $1,750. The Z Flip 3, on the other hand, is said to be priced between 1.2 million won and 1.28 million won, which would be between $1,050 and $1,120.

Sadly, even assuming this information is accurate, we do not know how these prices will translate into US dollars once the phones are released. But at first glance, it suggests that Samsung is willing and able to lower the price of its folding phone series.

After all, the Galaxy Z Fold 2's initial retail price was $1,999 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G was $1,449. A price drop of a few hundred dollars is significant, even if it means that the foldable is still more expensive than the non-foldable flagship.

However, it is worth mentioning that we have already heard rumors about the Galaxy Z Flip 3's price. The rumor was that it would start at $1,249, not the lower price suggested by the Naver blog.

Furthermore, previous reports have indicated that the Z Fold 3 will be priced 20% lower than its predecessor, which is consistent with this latest rumor.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to have S Pen support as well as possibly an under-display camera on the internal display. Meanwhile, the Z Flip 3 has been suggested to offer a larger external screen, among other upgrades.

Both models will reportedly be announced at the Samsung Unpacked event on August 11, and it won't be long before we learn their actual retail prices.
