Loki Finale Preview: The 5 Biggest Questions We Have to Answer

Loki's finale is almost upon us; who is behind TVA? And no, it was not Agatha from the beginning. Nor is it Mephistopheles, Wandavision fans.

Because we hope that the Loki Finale will not be bitten by the same bug as the Wanda Vision Finale. Remember when Paul Bettany thought there was going to be a major cameo and the punchline was a gag about White Vision?

So, with the Loki finale scheduled to be delivered this Wednesday, July 13, at 3 a.m. ET, here's what we hope will be resolved, or at least not left hanging like a false timeline.

Who is in that building we saw at the end of episode 5 of Loki when Sylvie casts the spell on Arios and Arios pulls back the first layer of the curtain like in "The Wizard of Oz"?

Will there be an emotionally rewarding rathole for Loki and Sylvie, or is this just a set-up for future MCU films? If it is the former and it turns out to be another Loki or one of the already known subspecies, a great drama could be spun out of it.

If the person behind TVA matches the rumors and predictions, then it is more likely the latter. The short answer is that he is a former love interest of Lavonna Lenslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) in the comics and is expected to appear in "Ant-Man 3" as a time-traveling big bad. Jonathan Majors, who will play Kang, has denied any involvement.

Since it was revealed that a variant of the evil Loki is Sylvie, and that Sylvie (apparently) does good, TVA has gone from a strange organization to a creepy authoritarian regime. Now we need answers about who is behind it, and that is what we can expect.

Loki and Sylvie are variants, and they have no earthly preoccupations. And that's not just because they have spent most of this season living in a place on the verge of apocalypse.

It has been said repeatedly that mutants don't last. At least, not unless they become TVA employees (as revealed in Loki #3). Since Loki and Sylvie are variants of the same person, both will never be canonized.

Will they both become new, less evil Time Variation Authority employees? This, oddly enough, seems like a possibility for the series to move forward. Or perhaps Loki and Sylvie will kill the head of the TVA and the organization will cease to exist.

Speaking of which, Loki is interestingly on a major cliffhanger when it comes to the larger Marvel movie calendar. The knowledge he has learned about timelines, multiverse, and nexus events will play some role in "Spider-Man: No Way Home" (December 17, 2021) and "Doctor Strange: The Madness Multiverse" (March 25, 2022).

So, as far as the multiverse is concerned, it seems like the perfect time to explode the rule book, throw all TVA regulations out the window, and open the door for all the cameos and surprises.

The only conundrum is whether this will happen at the end of "Loki. Rumors of a "Spider-Man 3" (regarding the return of past Spider-Man actors) suggest that it will definitely happen. We just want to know when it will happen.

Leaving the plot threads untied would require a return to the desk of TVA employee Casey (Eugene Cordero), who has more Infinity Stones than Thanos could ever dream of, since magic doesn't work at the TVA.

If Loki's finale does not put a cap on the existence of these gems, he will be looking over his shoulder for them in every film, like Tony Soprano when the screen switches to black.

Marvel likes to use the end credits scene to explain what comes next in the MCU, so if they do this for Loki they will need two. The other is for Mobius to see the rapture in his eyes as he races across the water on his jet ski.

As far as he knows, that's all he wants. And it's also all he wants from Loki's chatty sidekick. And yes, this underwater moment also requires a cameo appearance by Alligator Loki. That's right. Miss Minute also knows.
