Rick Dependence Spray comes in the aftermath of a very relationship heavy edition of this series. In one scene, Morty murders his ex-lover, his cronies, and Tinatia's boardroom. A congressman's house is also torched. Fun times. Meanwhile, Rick and Summer go on a very strange road trip.

Rick and Morty Season 5 Episode 4, aka "Rickdependence Spray," continues this season's format of referencing movies in the title. Who knows what planet (if not Earth) will welcome them, but an alien invasion like the one in ID4 seems like an all too easy concept for Rick and Morty. The whole show is full of aliens.

Previously, "A Rickconvenient Mort" turned Al Gore's message upside down and riffed on "Captain Planet," and "Mort Dinner Rick Andre" was based on Morty's need for a date with the worst dinner guest ever It was. Also, "Mortyplicity" took a page out of Michael Keaton's clone movie and brought in a never-ending clone/decoy army. If history repeats itself, it will happen in episode 5 or 10.
