Sony State of Play 2021-7 Live Stream — How to Watch and What to Expect

Today (July 8) Sony's next PlayStation State of Play will take place. Expect to hear not only about upcoming PS5 games, but also about the Deathloop console.

We also expect to hear more about the gameplay of Horizon Forbidden West. And maybe some hints as to what the next PS5 update will bring.

While God of War 2 is not expected, this State of Play could be a nice palate cleanser for an E3 2021 dominated by Xbox and the Bethesda Games Showcase.

However, Sony may have some surprises up its sleeve. So here's how to watch Sony's PlayStation State of Play in July 2021 and our predictions for what games will be announced.

PS5 State of Play 2021 will take place on Thursday, July 8 at 2pm PT, 5pm ET, and 10pm BST and will be streamed on various platforms including Twitch and YouTube. There does not appear to be a pre-show, but you can join the stream before the State of Play begins so you won't miss a moment.

The showcase is scheduled to last 30 minutes and will feature a variety of titles, with the upcoming exclusive shooter Deathloop.

In an official blog post confirming this State of Play showcase, Sony will not introduce the next God of War, Horizon: Forbiden West, nor the next generation PSVR 2. As such, one should not expect these updates.

However, it has been confirmed that the 30-minute stream will include an ended look at developer Arkane's PS5 exclusive Deathloop. According to the blog post, the gameplay demo shows protagonist Cole "using his abilities to sneak across rooftops and wreak havoc with his guns."

Alongside this look at Deathloop is an update on upcoming indie and third-party titles, one of which did not appear at E3 at all, but was announced at last year's PlayStation showcase: the Hogwarts Legacy Hogwarts Legacy.
