Finally, good news for "Wild Speed" fans: Universal Studios and Peacock have reached a deal that will make the latter the exclusive home of the former. The deal begins in 2022, so don't expect to see F9 there.

But what about Wild Speed 10 and Wild Speed 11? Along with Jurassic World, which will likely be part of the deal: along with the next installments of Dominion and Halloween, "Universal's films will be distributed exclusively on Peacock within four months of their theatrical release," according to CNN.

This is a big move for Peacock. The Tokyo Olympics, which was supposed to be the linchpin of the launch, was postponed from 2020, and the streaming service could not be trusted to do much.

But then Peacock exclusively distributed "The Office" and took it out of Netflix's hands. Speaking of wrestling, Peacock also became the exclusive U.S. streaming home of the WWE Network.

These films will be another way for Peacock to draw people from the free tier into the $4.99/month subscription; HBO Max does not include big new movies in its $9.99/month ad-supported tier, but only in its $14.99/month package.

It remains to be seen if this deal will solve the streaming problems of the "Wild Speed" series. In order to stream The Adventures of Dominic Toretto without purchasing it a la carte, one would need to use a streaming service such as Peacock, HBO Max, Fubo, or Spectrum.

The "Fast" films on other services probably have long-term contracts that must be terminated before the rights can be sold to Peacock, but it makes no sense for these films to be spread across so many streaming services. On the other hand, "Disney Plus" offers all of the "Star Wars" films in order, as well as almost all of the Marvel films in order.
