Bugatti's first electric hypercar is coming - thanks to the Rimac joint venture

Bugatti is transitioning to electric vehicles as part of a new joint venture with parent company Porsche (under VW) and electric hypercar company Rimac.

The two brands will remain separate, but will be under the umbrella of a new company named "Bugatti Rimac. The goal is to share resources and expertise between the two automakers.

The new joint venture will be ready and ready to go at some point later this year. The purpose of the partnership is to allow Bugatti to leverage Rimac's knowledge and expertise as it begins its transition to electric vehicles.

In return, Rimac will be able to draw on Bugatti's wealth of knowledge and experience. Given that Bugatti currently produces the second fastest public road-going car in the world (the 304.77 km/h Chiron), that would be a sufficient advantage for Rimac. Rimac could use Bugatti's talent and resources to improve the performance of its own hypercars.

This is very exciting from a business perspective, but most important is the fact that Bugatti will be making the transition to electric vehicles in the near future. The internal combustion engine is already becoming obsolete, and the future of the automotive industry is electric vehicles. [The Rimac Nevera promises a top speed of 258 mph, which is faster than the first Bugatti Veyron in 2005. This is faster than the first Bugatti Veyron in 2005. It will be very interesting to see what Bugatti can achieve with proper electric technology.

Mate Rimac, CEO of Rimac Automobil, told Top Gear that the next Bugatti will still have an internal combustion engine and will appear at some point within a decade. However, a second all-electric Bugatti is also slated to arrive by 2030, but the company stressed that it will be something entirely new.

As such, it will not add the Bugatti badge to Rimac's existing cars, nor will it add hybrid technology to the Chiron. Rimac also confirmed that Bugatti's extensive history means that both companies are capable of building more than hypercars. Rimac, however, did not specify what that could look like beyond the very vague opportunity to "build a very exciting car."

We will see something very interesting in a few years as a result of this deal. And honestly, I can't wait.
