The stunning MacBook Air2021 concept has all the features and lots of colors we want

After the 2020 model breathed new life into the MacBook Air with the introduction of the impressive Apple M1 chip, we expect the MacBook Air 2021 to shake things up with a new design.

This eye-catching new concept video by Devam Jangra imagines what the new MacBook Air would look like if it took the iMac 2021's design as a reference.

First and foremost, Jangra has meant to render it in a rainbow of colors to choose from.

The colors shown here are a bit more vibrant than the darker shades of the new 24-inch iMac and are reminiscent of the playful shades available on the 2013 iPhone 5C.

But whatever the exact shade, the idea of a colorful Mac has been around for some time, and Jon Prosser, a leaker with a fairly strong track record when it comes to Apple predictions, said as much in a video in May, "identical to the shades we see on the new 24-inch iMac stand He added that the colors would be "very close, if not identical, to the shades you see on the new 24-inch iMac stand.

Another thing predicted about the MacBook Air 2021 is a return to MagSafe charging, first introduced in 2006 and last seen in the 2017 MacBook Air. This was a charger that magnetically attached to the laptop and was so loose that it would come off if the cable got caught.

It was replaced by the more traditional USB-C charging cable. However, one can imagine MagSafe making a comeback at the 18-second mark with this concept.

Despite the addition of the MagSafe charging plug, this concept finds space to keep the two USB-C ports on the left side. This is also thanks to a more square design that eschews the MacBook Air's traditional tapered design: it is styled like a MacBook Pro, but also has the feel of an iPhone 12, thanks to its bright colors.

Finally, in this concept, Touch ID returns to its familiar position in the upper right corner of the keyboard.

There are no real surprises here, given that this has always been a feature on the MacBook Air since the 2018 model year and is unlikely to go away unless Apple introduces Face ID on the laptop.

Outside of this concept, previous rumors suggest that the MacBook Air 2021 will likely feature an Apple M2 chip (or M1X chip) and a new display that may use mini LEDs and have narrower bezels.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the new MacBook Air will appear in late 2021 or early 2022.

If the end product is anything like this concept, it will be worth the wait.
