If you are trying to download the public beta of tvOS 15 today, you have all the steps necessary to jump on this fall's update before its final release. However, this is definitely not something everyone should try.

Rushing to download the tvOS 15 public beta may put your Apple TV at unwanted risk. Sure, it was incredibly difficult to get the tvOS 15 developer beta on Apple TV (Xcode was required), but everyone who is excited to try the tvOS 15 public beta should know how difficult it is to fix any problems that arise It is.

Unlike other Apple betas, it cannot be easily removed. In fact, if you encounter problems with the public beta Apple TV 4K, you will need to work with Apple. This is discussed below. If you have never put a beta update on your Apple TV, register your Apple TV with Apple's Beta Software Program.

1. open the Settings app

2. select "System" (if you do not see the option to get the beta download, return to this screen and select "Users and Accounts" with the same Apple ID you used to register for the beta program (Make sure you are logged in)

3. Select "Software Update"

4. Select "Get Beta Update" (it is off here)

5. Click "Get Beta Update" to confirm

6. select "I agree" (you should probably read the legalese, but no one does)

7. select "Download and Install"

Once the download is complete, your Apple TV will restart and install tvOS 14. This will take a while; once the Apple TV is back online, return to the Software Update screen (step 5) to confirm that you are now on tvOS 15.

Now you are probably thinking about what you can do with your newly updated Apple TV.
