Stranger Things Season 4 Cast Members hype the best "stakes" ever

One thing that has been consistently said about "Stranger Things" Season 4 is that it will portray Hawkins' antics in an even darker light than before. And (unsurprisingly), if new interviews with at least one cast member are to be believed, the show will draw more in the process.

The news comes from Collider, which spoke with Sadie Sink, who plays Maxine "Max" Mayfield on the series. The scale of the show gets bigger and bigger every year, so it's really incredible to see how the storylines are going to turn out. This year is really amazing. And how the stakes are higher. More than ever."

So what does that mean? Our guess is that there will be more life and death situations than before. This is consistent with a report posted in all caps by the @StrangerNews11 Twitter account, claiming that something "massive" is happening at Hawkins Cemetery. This led people to speculate that a new character death might occur in Season 4, possibly a service for Hopper or Billy.

But if we are talking about scale and stakes, does that mean we are no longer just looking at the fate of these friends and the small town of Hawkins? This "scale" comment makes sense given how season 3 ended.

Speaking about the mood of this season, co-star Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) told ET, "When it comes to the tone of this season, I definitely think the tone has definitely matured. He also told Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show" that the upcoming season could be the "scariest" season yet. [Horror icon Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger) will play a character named Victor Creel. According to Variety, Creel is "a disturbing and intimidating man who is locked up in a mental institution for a gruesome murder that took place in the 1950s."
