Jordana Brewster Reveals Fast & Furious 10 Casting Wishes We Need Now

We expect "Wild Speed 10" and "Wild Speed 11" to surprise us with new cast members. However, a new interview with Brewster shows a keen eye for the series' past and suggests some clever ideas to make these films even better.

In an interview with Looper, Brewster, who plays Mia Toretto, discusses two ideas she dreamed up for the casting of the final two films in the "Wild Speed" series. And, of course, one of those ideas is to cast a familiar face for the first time in a long time. Editor's Note: Please note the following minor spoilers for F9!

A tribute to the series' past? 2 It brings back Eva Mendes, who played Monica Fuentes in Fast 2 Furious and made a brief cameo in Fast Five, but has not been seen since. Brewster said, "I think it's a great idea to bring Eva Mendes back. So I think it's really exciting to have her back." [F9 has done a great job of bringing back the Tokyo Drift characters Shaun Boswell (Lucas Black), Twinkie (Bow Wow), and Earl (Jason Tobin). The series loves fanservice and tying in all the past storylines whenever possible. In the credits scene of Fast and Furious 9, Han (Sung Kang) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) were in the same room.

But her more appealing casting idea is to bring Phoebe Waller-Bridge of Fleabag into the Fast franchise. Brewster said she had had this idea for some time because "it was something Michelle Rodriguez and [Brewster] talked about when they were shooting in London, before Bond got her. [Why Waller-Bridge? Brewster wants to relieve Tej and Roman of their comedic burden, saying, "We need someone to relieve the tension with comedy. Ludacris and Tyrese do a lot of great work, but I'd like to see a little of her dry humor. I think that would be a dream come true."

Bond Pictures does not "own" Waller-Bridge, but having her join one of the other biggest action movie franchises would be a big win for Fast Family. Also, Waller-Bridge is an out-of-place casting for a "Fast" film, so we will have to see how she fits into this over-the-top world.

Brewster also expressed a desire to focus more on female characters in the Fast films, "Hopefully, we will also explore friendships between girls."

He stated. Ludacris said in a previous group interview that there should be a spin-off movie just for the women of "Wild Speed" and believes that Helen Mirren (played by Magdalene Shaw aka Queenie) should definitely be in that movie (and so should we).
