The new Loki Trailer teases the big fight ahead for Loki and Sylvie

The mid-season Loki trailer made me long for Wednesday. Yes, it was another day in the apocalypse when we last saw Loki Laufeison and Sylvie (not Lady Loki). Except that Lamentis 1 looked really desperate and the Ark they were planning to escape from was blown up.

But of course we knew they would escape alive. They just didn't know what would happen next. At least, not until now. Marvel Entertainment and Disney have released a new clip on social media and YouTube showing what's next for this mischievous duo.

The clip begins with a bit of a recap of the early season, in which Mobius (Owen Wilson) explains the killer variant that murders the TVA Minutemen. But then, right after he talks about the timekeepers, we catch a glimpse of Lavona Lenslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) as she enters an area covered in a green and fog that has never been seen before. Is this how Loki reveals Kang the Conquer? As the Loki TV Series Character Description Guide notes, Lenslayer has a connection to him in the comics.

And fast forward to where Loki meets Sylvie, who is not yet called Enchantress. And this is where things take a very strange turn. A child version of Sylvie enters one of the space-time gateways to the TVA, the battleship suddenly lands in a field, and then Loki and Sylvie are back in the clutches of the TVA, revealing what we all knew.

And just after Loki complains that he has less security than Sylvie, there is a flash of a big fight between Loki and Sylvie. And this fight, from the very brief glimpse we see, takes place in the same place that Lavona Lenslayer was exploring.

Then Loki stabs the air with a fancy dagger and a light appears from it. Clearly, this is no longer TVA.

And it seems that Loki may be reaching a climax, with Loki and Sylvie fighting for their future, or to plant themselves as permanent versions rather than variants in the Timekeeper. But something tells me that it does not look like the story they are telling about Loki.

What seems more likely, at least for Loki, is to become a permanent member of TVA. If that happens, Hiddleston will continue to make cameo appearances in MCU films and programs.
