While we are excited about the upcoming iPhone 13, it is not surprising that Apple is already thinking beyond 2022 Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that Apple will release the third-generation iPhone SE in early 2022. in early 2022.

Kuo claims that the iPhone SE 3 will share the same form factor as the current iPhone SE, but will feature 5G and an upgraded A-series processor. As such, he expects this to be the least expensive 5G iPhone, which makes sense. Currently, the cheapest 5G iPhone is the iPhone 12 mini, which starts at $699.

Other than that, Kuo said nothing more about the upcoming SE refresh. We expect Apple will likely surprise us again, as it did with the second-generation model that came out in 2020.

We have heard other rumors about the upcoming iPhone SE and there are even suggestions that there will be an iPhone SE Plus. There is no doubt that an affordable large-screen iPhone will be quite popular. However, we are also hearing that there will be a non-Pro iPhone 14 with a large display, which could be this so-called iPhone SE Plus. At this point only Apple knows.

Apple seems to be happy with the sales of the iPhone SE (2020), and recent rumors suggest that they are delaying the release of a follow-on device to keep current sales alive. This makes a lot of sense.

Neither Kuo nor any other reliable source has revealed what specs Apple plans to pack into the iPhone SE 3. iPhone SE 3 may have the same processor as the flagship iPhone released just before it. As was the case with the iPhone SE before it. in the case of the iPhone SE, that would mean the A15 Bionic chip that will be in the iPhone 13 this fall. But that is speculation at this point.

The current iPhone SE is an excellent phone and has the best price/performance ratio of any mobile device available today. Not only that, but it enjoys years of software support from Apple.

Don't expect Apple to talk about the iPhone SE 3 at the iPhone 13 event later this year; early 2022 is not that far away.
