Description of the Fast and Furious 9 Credit Scene - What Happens Here

The "Wild Speed" movies have featured some gut-wrenching end credits scenes, but the end credits scene for F9 may be the juiciest yet.

After being delayed for over a year due to a coronavirus pandemic, "Wild Speed 9" finally opens this week. Vin Diesel reprises his role as crew leader Dominic Toretto and is joined by franchise regulars Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, and Jordana Brewster. Newcomer John Cena joins the cast as Jacob Toretto, Dom and Mia's long-lost brother.

On F9, Dom, Letty, and their son Brian lead a quiet life. But a new threat forces Dom to confront his past sins. The friends reunite to stop a plot that threatens to shake the world, but it is Dom's brother Jacob, a skilled hitman and high-performance driver, who appears. Dom's view of family becomes even more complicated.

Previous "Wild Speed" films have had end credits scenes that set up the next film; the end credits of "Fast Five" reveal that Letty is still alive, while the end credits of "Fast and Furious 6" show Jason Statham introduced that he would be playing the villainous Deckard Shaw.

F9 also has an end credits scene that brings together two characters with very contentious histories.

Spoilers for "Wild Speed" follow.

To give some background on the end credit scene, Han (played by Sung Kang), who was "killed" in a fiery automobile accident in 2006's "Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift," is back in the new film.

During F9, the team learns that Han is alive and working with Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell). One of Mr. Nobody's secret agents goes rogue and uses Deckard Shaw to fake Han's death, all to protect Han's ward Elle (Anna Sawai). The rogue agent turned out to be Jacob Tollett, Dom and Mia's brother. He was part of a plot to steal a device that could hack any computer weapons system.

However, Jacob would help his brother foil the plan. Dom and Mia let him go, but it seems as if this will not be the last time we will see Jacob.

And at the very end of the film, the crew celebrates their victory with a barbecue. Brian's (the late Paul Walker) car, a blue Skyline, pulls into the driveway.

The credits roll before fans have time to process this emotional moment. Midway through, a scene begins to play.

Deckard Shaw appears to be training with a punching bag. He then unzips it and finds a man inside. The man begs him to exchange the drive containing his plans in exchange for his freedom. But Deckard already has the drive, so he unzips the bag and starts punching again.

He is interrupted by a knock at the door. Deckard opens the door and there is Han, the man he should have killed years ago. Cut to black.

Deckard and Han have a lot of history, to say the least. Deckard killed Han in Tokyo Drift - or so he thought, and F9 explains that Mr. Nobody used Deckard to fake Han's death.

So is Han trying to avenge a death he did not actually suffer? Or is his appearance a set-up for "Hobbs and Shaw 2"?

The latter seems likely, as many fans were upset that Deckard was given a spin-off series after appearing as a villain. But now F9 has delivered #JusticeforHan. Han could be active in "Hobbs and Shaw 2."

Or, since Han is confirmed to return in "Wild Speed 10," the end credits scene in "Wild Speed 9" may be setting up Shaw's return to the main film.
