[Rick and Morty Season 5 is here. That's right, the dysfunctional members of the hugely popular Adult Swim family are back with even more chaos. From the early reviews, the show seems to have evolved even further.

Thankfully, this wait won't last too long, as there is only one year between Season 4 and Season 5 (much better than the two-year wait from Season 3). Adult Swim has also announced that it will have a day dedicated to Rick and Morty.

Also, if you're not ready to watch now, Rick and Morty seasons 1-4 are currently available on HBO Max.

Rick and Morty Season 5 airs today, Sunday, June 20 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on Adult Swim.

The Warner Media press release announcing the new season did not provide details, but we have a hunch how it will play out. Season 5 is also expected to air in two 10-episode installments. This will be similar to how Season 4 was, with five episodes airing in November and December 2019, with the second half airing in May 2020.

The season premiere of Rick and Morty, "Mort Dinner Rick Andre" (a rather lofty joke for this show) has been reviewed. It has been well received.

Good news for those who are sick and tired of Rick and Morty feeling like an endless loop of Rick's despicable behavior and family forgiveness, Digital Spy's David Opie's review emphasizes how disgusted and repulsed Morty is and how "the comprehensive significant change from Season 4, which dealt with stand-alone stories with little progress in the storyline."

Nevertheless, Decider's Kayla Cobb writes that "the first episode of the season - the only episode offered to critics ahead of the premiere - is, as this series always is, rambling, super-special, and brilliantly dumb."

"'Rick Andre's Mort Dinner' is a slam dunk of an opening episode.

The trailer for Season 5 of "Rick and Morty" begins with Rick and the Smith family in a haunted forest.

And before you know it, there's a slightly too sexualized Aquaman knockoff, lots of leather, a crashing spaceship, Summer driving a spaceship with a sun attached to the back bumper, and a Voltron parody. And Mr. Poopybutthole, or one of his relatives, is likely to make an appearance.

What is the song playing in the background? It's "Blue Orchid" by the White Stripes.

Rick and Morty has moved to HBO Max in the US, so the odds of seeing it on Netflix are high only if you are not in the US - since HBO Max is not available outside the US

Rick and Morty will It will never be. Somehow, HBO Max (Adult Swim's streaming site) shares Rick and Morty with Hulu, much like Avatar The Last Airbender is on Netflix and Paramount Plus.

Any word on when Season 5 of Rick and Morty will be available on Hulu and HBO Max? Frankly, we are speculating on this because nothing has been announced. Previously, "Rick and Morty" Season 4 Part 2 came to Netflix seven months after it aired on Adult Swim, so it could be around January 2022.

Adult Swim has declared the premiere date of Rick and Morty Season 5 (Sunday, June 20) as "Rick and Morty Day."

Rick and Morty Day seems fitting for a show that has mocked product placement with endless Pringles ads. According to the press release, it will be "an out-of-this-world celebration with sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes footage, and special surprises across television, digital, and social to kick off the global premiere of the new season."
