Macbook Pro M1X Tipped for Q4 Launch - and New Mac mini

The MacBook Pro M1X was conspicuous by its absence at WWDC 2021, especially since Apple included the term in the keynote's YouTube metadata. However, one tipster source believes we have a long wait ahead of us, claiming that the improved laptop will not appear until Q4 2021.

This is Dylandkt's view, and he has been proven correct in the past with his predictions regarding the M1 iMac and 2021 iPad Pro, so it is certainly worth listening to him.

"MacBook Pro 14 and 16 definitely coming in Q4 2021," he tweeted. 'Either late October or early November. Asked if this could coincide with the release of the M1X-powered iMac Pro, Rieker replied that it did not, but that a "Mac mini can definitely be expected" with the same M1X chipset.

Both the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models have been predicted for some time, but more interesting is the latter, as the currently available 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro still uses Intel chips and the upgrade to Apple Silicon The 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro is the more interesting of the two models because it still uses Intel chips and has not yet been upgraded to Apple Silicon. The 14-inch MacBook Pro, on the other hand, will likely replace the 13-inch version sold today, and the 2021 Mac mini could be a straight refresh of the M1-based version introduced last winter.

Dylandkt has made other predictions about the upcoming M1X MacBook Pro that have yet to be proven; in May, he predicted key specs and a bold new design.

"The M1X is an extension of the M1 with more Thunderbolt channels, CPU cores, GPU cores, support for multiple external monitors, and greater power consumption," he claimed. Both of these devices will feature a 1080p webcam, SD card reader, three Thunderbolt USB C ports, a state-of-the-art MagSafe port, and an HDMI port."

In terms of appearance, the leaker said Apple will use the iPad Pro with its flat edges and shrunken bezels as inspiration; the words "MacBook Pro" will also finally disappear from under the screen, in his view.

While time will tell on all of these predictions, it is worth noting that the late October to early November prediction puts Dylandkt at odds with another recent prediction. Last week, LeaksApplePro claimed that "at least one model" of the new MacBook Pro would appear in week 31, which has been interpreted to mean August 2-8.
