The ridiculous Xbox Series X Mini Fridge is real and it's coming soon

At the end of Microsoft's E3 2021 showcase, a new trailer for an accessory called the Xbox Mini Fridge was released.

"Yes, this is really happening," had to be actually quoted in the trailer so that fans would not think it was a late April Fool's joke. Not only was it real, but fans were also informed that it would be released during the holiday season of 2021. The price, however, was not revealed. Given that most mini-fridges retail for $100-$150, it is expected to be under $200.

Since the console was officially announced in early 2020, Xbox devotees have been calling it a refrigerator. Microsoft tipped the joke by offering influencers and a few lucky fans an actual giant Xbox refrigerator in the shape of the Series X.

Xbox also partnered with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to promote his ZOA energy drink. In the video, Johnson works out, then opens the Xbox Series X's mini-fridge and pulls out a Zoa-branded drink.

In April of this year, Twitter Marketing held a poll to see which brand would have the best marketing tweet of 2020; Xbox narrowly defeated Skittles with 50.5% of the vote. Later, Aaron Greenberg, general manager of Xbox game marketing, said that Microsoft is moving forward with the production of mini-fridges.

Unfortunately, Sony has not fought back with a PS5-type small appliance; the PS5 would not work as a refrigerator, but it could make a George Foreman-style grill.
