The first trailer for the Witcher Season 2 is here — let's break down every 12 seconds

Don't blink at the teaser trailer for "The Witcher" Season 2, released on the last day of Netflix's Geeked Week. This mercilessly short video is only 12 seconds long and focuses on Princess Sheli (Freya Allan), who was tweeted during Geeked Week to be "no longer lost in the woods." The event also revealed that Netflix and game developer CD Projekt Red will host WitcherCon next month.

This is the first footage fans will see of "The Witcher" Season 2, which wrapped filming in April and will be released by the end of the year. The teaser shows flashes of Siri in the woods, lit by a bonfire, riding a horse, and wielding a sword.

Other images include brief glimpses of Elder Speech notations, daggers, bloody corpses, and garments embroidered with lions.

Not much is known about the plot of Season 2, but fans expect Gellert to take Siri to Kaer Morhen to train and discover her abilities.

Along with Alan, Henry Cavill returns as Geralt of Livia. Anja Charotra also returns as Jenefer of Wengerberg, but the fate of this character was up in the air at the end of season 1. Season 2 of The Witcher will add several new cast members, including Christopher Hivju (best known for his role as Tormund in "Game of Thrones") as Niveren.

The Witcher is one of Netflix's most popular shows, so much so that Netflix has ordered a prequel series and animated film titled "Blood Origin" about the first Witcher.

More details about The Witcher and the spin-off may be announced at WitcherCon, which was announced during Geeked Week.

Netflix and game developer CD Projekt Red are teaming up to host a virtual event on July 9. The digital convention will be streamed on both the host's YouTube and Twitch channels.

According to the WitcherCon website, fans will have access to exclusive firsts, news, and making-of content about The Witcher game, live-action series, animated film, and merchandise. However, no new Witcher games will be announced.
