The first orders for the colorful new Apple iMac 2021 were delivered just last month, but that didn't stop Amazon from slashing the already low price of Apple's thin all-in-one.

The iMac 2021 is a very top-of-the-line computer, so the discount is not very large, but the price drop on this new machine is worth noting. Right now, you can get a 24-inch Apple iMac 2021 for $1,249 on Amazon. That's $50 off the regular price of $1,299.

Anyone who has seen Apple's latest online ad will know that the focus of this series is on the wide variety of colors the machines are available in. Unfortunately, this offer does not apply to all versions of the machine, only blue and silver colorways. However, the latter is likely to blend seamlessly into most homes.

For this price, you get a "slender but speedy machine packed with great speakers, an excellent webcam, and a beautiful screen," plus Apple's M1 chip is thrown into the mix to give it excellent performance even under heavy use. In fact, we rated this machine so highly that we awarded it an Editor's Choice badge in our review.

Our bargain is the entry-level version of the iMac 2021 with a 7-core GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of SSD storage. It is possible to get the latest iMac with more powerful specs, but it costs about $1,499 and does not currently qualify for any discounts. Of course, this is not to say that the base model of the iMac 2021 is inferior; even in its most basic configuration, this is an excellent PC.

It is not a perfect machine. Apple's insistence on being stingy with ports is a predictable (but still frustrating) problem. Also, the included Magic Mouse and Keyboard are not particularly comfortable to use, especially if you have large hands. But these are minor complaints.

After all, there's a reason the iMac 2021 is already ranked among the best computers. This stylish machine backs up its flashy looks with genuinely strong performance and a nearly unbeatable display. It was well worth the full price, but this discount makes it even easier to recommend.
