Asus new Gundam themed motherboard, you have to pick a side: Gundam or Zak?

Good news, Gundam fans: some of the Gundam-branded PC components that Asus began selling in Asia last year are now available in the US (via Newegg).

But if you want to buy a new motherboard, you have to pick a side: Intel is Gundam, AMD is Zaku. Specifically, Asus has released a special Gundam-themed version of its Intel Z590 board with a classic RX-78-2 Gundam paint job and a special Zaku-themed version of its Tuf Gaming AMD B550M board.

It should be noted that, at least on Newegg, Asus' Gundam-themed motherboards are a bit pricier than the no-name brand versions. Still, this price is not unreasonable, especially considering the significant price fluctuations seen in the PC component market due to global supply issues and chip shortages.

Newegg also offers several other items from the Asus x Gundam collaboration, including a T-shirt and a Zakbrand version of Asus' RT-AX86U AX5700 gaming router. In addition to the crimson paint job, this Wi-Fi 6 router has performance-oriented features such as a special "mobile gaming mode" that Asus claims decreases latency while playing games wirelessly.

The full line of Asus x Gundam PC components includes Gundam-branded routers, GPUs, cases, power supplies, and even accessories such as headsets and mouse pads. Many of these are not yet available in the U.S., but we expect more to come into U.S. retailers in the future.
