Xbox Game Pass members get free Disney Plus again - but there's a catch

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can now watch Loki and other Disney Plus shows for free. Microsoft is once again offering a free 30-day trial, following last year's temporary Game Pass benefit of streaming services. And like last time, it comes with a number of caveats.

The official Xbox Twitter account teased the move yesterday, saying, "At first we were going to make this flashy video to announce the next Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perk, but in the end we decided to be a little more... We decided to keep it low-key. Low key." This casual tweet was jumped on by fans eager for more news. Microsoft later issued an official update on the collaboration.

The release stated, "Last holiday, we launched a collaboration with our friends at Disney+ to offer a 30-day trial to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members through the Perks program. When this Perk ended in January, we heard from you that you wanted more, and we are happy to share that good news with you today."

He added, "We are very pleased to announce that we are now offering the Perks program to our members.

The good news is that those who took advantage of the Disney+ 30-day trial benefit the first time can take advantage of it a second time; the Xbox blog says, "Whether or not you claimed your last Disney+ benefit, you do not currently have an active Disney+ subscription. Ultimate members are eligible to claim a 30-day subscription trial through Perks Gallery on Xbox consoles, the Xbox app on Windows PC, or the Xbox Game Pass mobile app on iOS and Android."

There is one more caveat, however.

The offer is only for new Disney Plus subscribers, so anyone who previously had or currently has an active membership is not eligible. So basically, as long as you have not paid for a previous game pass-based Disney Plus trial after signing up, you are good to go.

This trial is one per account, and you must be at least 18 years old to use it. If you meet all of these requirements, you can enjoy Disney's one-month free trial while you still can.

Once you claim your benefit, you will be directed to the Disney Plus website to activate your benefit. The trial can be claimed until September 30, so if you check Disney Plus' upcoming programming information, which is mostly Marvel films, you can time your 30-day stay accordingly.
