As usual, OnePlus is dribbling out details of its upcoming phones, but the latest information on the Nord N200 includes some eye-catching specs for a budget device. It will feature 5G and a 1080p 90Hz display, all for under $250, cheaper than OnePlus' $299 N10 5G.

In an interview with PCMag, CEO Pete Lau said that the Nord N200, which OnePlus announced in late May along with the OnePlus Nord CE, will be the company's cheapest 5G phone to date. Lau said, "The OnePlus Nord N200 5G is a complete upgrade from the OnePlus Nord N100, offering superior performance and a solid 5G experience."

The Nord N200 adopts some of the features of last year's N10, which had a full HD 90Hz LCD display and 5G support.

Those who purchased last year's N100 had to make do with a 720p 90Hz screen. That terminal initially cost about $235, but lacked 5G. Therefore, the N200 should be an upgrade over that terminal.

Lau and OnePlus also provided PCMag with teaser images of the Nord N200. The device has three rear-facing cameras and a hole-punch front-facing camera in the upper left corner of the display. There appears to be a fingerprint scanner built into the power button as well.

OnePlus has yet to reveal any other specs or release date for the Nord N200; OnePlus has a habit of dropping details about its devices, so more details should be revealed soon.

There are several other phones offering 5G in the same price range as the N200, including Samsung's Galaxy A32. At least as far as screens go, the N200 is a more attractive option than the A32 with its 720p 60Hz display; time will tell if OnePlus has given the N200 enough oomph to make it live up to its first couple of specs.
