Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 3 may come in four colors: light violet, green, beige, and black, according to prominent leaker Ice Universe.

This gives us a better picture of what the next flip phone-style foldable from Samsung will look like, and suggests that its color inspiration may have been drawn from the violet Samsung Galaxy S21.

Violet and black color options make sense. These seem like a follow-up to the Mirror Purple and Mirror Black colors that Samsung offered on the original Galaxy Z Flip, and black is a color commonly seen on smartphones in general.

Green is less common, while beige is particularly rare. Samsung has prepared the Galaxy Z Flip 5G in Mystic Bronze, which is an unusual color but looks great thanks to the metallic highlights. It's hard to imagine a flat-textured beige looking attractive on a phone, even one with a futuristic folding body.

All four of these color options have been rumored before, and it seems reasonable to believe that this leak is legitimate. We may have seen these colors in leaked Samsung promotional materials.

In the long run, these may not be the only options. Industry analyst Ross Young tweeted in May that black, white, dark blue, and pink would also be offered by Samsung, for a total of eight colors. But he said only four would get "most of the volume," which may reflect why we have not heard much about these other four shades.

Regardless of which color becomes reality, leaked information so far suggests that the Z Flip 3 will have a two-tone design, with the camera bump and small external display housed in a black area. Otherwise, it is expected to look similar to the previous model, with two external cameras and another embedded in a punch hole inside the display.

Further changes to the hardware are rumored. It is widely observed that this will include a larger battery, a larger external display, and the Snapdragon 888 flagship chip. The most recent announcement rumors suggest that the Z Flip 3 will be announced in August or possibly July, along with the larger Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Furthermore, Samsung is said to be lowering the price over the original Z Flip. This would be good news for users who have been hesitant to purchase a foldable phone because of the price increase compared to the best non-folding phones.
