iphone13 battery size leaked on all models - and that's good news

If there is one area where the iPhone 13 should try to improve on the iPhone 12, it is battery life. While Apple's recent flagships have proven to be superior, only the iPhone 12 Pro Max delivered above-average battery life in our tests.

Apple may address that shortcoming with the iPhone 13. According to new rumors, the battery in Apple's next model will be larger than the one offered by the current iPhone.

According to Twitter user @L0vetodream (via 9to5Mac), a highly successful Apple leaker, the battery in each iPhone 13 model will range from 2,406 mAh to 4,352 mAh, with the iPhone 13 Pro Max The iPhone 12's battery ranged from 2,227 mAh to 3,687 mAh, depending on the model.

There are many reasons for Apple to opt for a larger battery in the iPhone 13. Clearly, it is trying to be more competitive with rival models like the Google Pixel 5 and Samsung Galaxy S21, which have larger batteries than the iPhone 12. [Of course, that doesn't necessarily translate into longer battery life, and the Pixel series has struggled in this regard. To put things in perspective, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra ranked 15th in our latest best phone battery life test, and the iPhone 12 model didn't even rank.

The main factor regarding battery life is the apps/features being used at any given moment. Any phone would perform well if all power-hungry options were turned off. However, doing so would not be a realistic portrayal of everyday use. Consumers would want to use as many of the phone's fancy apps as possible. And since the iPhone 13 comes with some powerful upgrades, such as better 5G connectivity, new display technology, and a faster processor, it makes sense to have a bigger battery to combat the extra drain.

Apple is trying to compete with its rivals by making sure that the phone's battery continues to provide enough power. And the A15 Bionic chip expected to be in the new iPhone could help in that regard by distributing power more efficiently.
