In our review of the MacBook Pro M1, we found that thanks to Apple's silicon, this laptop blows away most Windows laptops in speed. For example, transcoding a 4K video took only 7 minutes and 46 seconds on the MacBook Pro, compared to over 18 minutes on the Dell XPS 13.

The battery life offered by the MacBook Pro M1 is also attractive. In our web surfing battery test, the notebook lasted a whopping 16 hours and 25 minutes. This is six hours longer than the previous Intel MacBook Pro and more than five hours longer than the XPS 13.
