Tesla Cyber Truck can have an incredible 610-mile range

Tesla's Cybertruck is already becoming a very impressive electric truck, but a patent application suggests it may be even better than we first thought.

The patent reveals a number of important details about the CyberTruck's UI, including details about accessories, features, and an impressive 610-mile range.

Tesla has emphasized that the Tri-Motor Cybertruck can achieve a range of over 500 miles on a single charge. This is quite astounding considering that the only comparable electric vehicle is the Tesla Model S Plaid Plus, which has a range of 520 miles on a single charge.

However, the images in the patent application, named "Context Sensitive User Interface For Enhanced Vehicle Operation," consistently show a range estimate of 610 miles. This suggests that a cyber truck will be able to travel that far without recharging.

For reference, it is a 270-mile drive from LA to Las Vegas. This means that not only can this cybertruck make the round trip without stopping to recharge, but it still has plenty of power left.

Quite incredibly, it has not been confirmed exactly whether the cybertruck can go such a distance without recharging. After all, you would think that Elon Musk would love to show off what his car can do and mention whether the CyberTruck can go that far on a single charge.

And the UI itself looks like a PS1-era video game menu screen. It's quite fitting, since the Cybertruck itself looks like a polygonal vehicle from a 90's cyberpunk adventure.

The UI also makes reference to a portable camper kitchen that lives in the Cybertruck's rear cargo bed, pulling up to 20,000 pounds of cargo (twice the currently advertised weight), and suggests that the truck can see the surrounding terrain.

The slide also mentions features such as mirrors with eye tracking, automatic off-road detection, facial recognition, wireless communication with the trailer, and passenger recognition. The all-electric CyberQuad ATV, which was announced at the same time as the CyberTruck, is also introduced.

The only question I have is, if this is true, why didn't Tesla mention this before? Terrain awareness is far more useful than knowing that a car door can withstand a sledgehammer blow or a 9mm pistol shot.

But with the first models of the Cyber Truck now scheduled to arrive by the end of the year, we won't have to wait much longer before we start hearing about all the other things this truck can do.
