OnePlus is already working on its next affordable smartphones after the acclaimed 9 series; dubbed the Nord CE 5G and N200 5G, they will pack more power and the OnePlus experience at a lower price than the 9 series.

Speaking to TechRadar, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed the company's plans but did not give too many details. We do know that these phones are coming, and the Nord CE 5G is expected to be announced on June 10.

The "CE" in Nord CE 5G stands for "Core Edition" and is presumably similar to Samsung's Fan Edition line. The phone may not be a true successor to last year's popular Nord, but it nevertheless appears to carry on that phone's legacy of offering flagship features at a lower price point; the Nord once shone with the brilliance of the OnePlus, and the Nord CE 5G is a more affordable version of that phone.

The Nord CE 5G strips Nord down to its core components and adds useful features to keep costs down; TechRadar reports that the Nord CE 5G will be for Europe and India, but the site knows nothing about pricing or specs.

Samsung is reportedly preparing the Galaxy S21 FE, which will attempt to bring the best parts of the Galaxy S21 to a more affordable phone, but a tentative release date is not yet known. [However, according to TechRadar, the Nord N200 5G is not likely to be announced at the June event; the N200's goal is to offer the best 5G phone in its price range, which remains a mystery at this point. Lau told TechRadar that the N200 will have certain OnePlus features, but it is not known what they are or even what specs the phone will have.

Although the press has not mentioned a successor to the Nord N10 5G, OnePlus is confident that the N200 will be the most affordable 5G phone on the market. With several affordable 5G phones coming out in recent months and more on the way, OnePlus will have an uphill battle to win that crown.
