iOS 15 Leak Just Revealed Top new features for your iPhone

The expected iOS 15 reveal is expected to take place at Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference, which opens in two weeks. Now, ahead of the iPhone's latest software upgrade, a leaker shares good news about upcoming notification and lock screen changes.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman previously reported that iOS 15 will bring an overhaul to notifications and the iPhone lock screen, but Twitter user Connor Jewiss (@connorjewiss) endorsed these updates (via PhoneArena). He also said that food tracking will be added to the Health app, and "tweaks" will be made to Messages and the Dark Mode UI.

Managing app alerts is not easy with the current Notification Center. Sure, you can swipe away notifications as you please, but the backlog of notifications that appears when you swipe down the screen always seems a bit pointless. For most people, notifications are only important in the moment.

There are no glaring issues with the current lock screen UI, but it appears that a new look and new tools are on the way. It would be useful to be able to customize the information displayed on the lock screen and the activation buttons. Right now, only the flashlight and camera programs can be opened quickly, and only the date and current time can be seen.

The information about food tracking for Apple's native Health app appears to be the first we've heard about Wellness Center software changes in the pipeline. The Health app already tracks sleep, exercise, and even medical records, but soon users may be able to monitor their food more closely. Hopefully, though, steps will be taken to do so responsibly.

Other "tweaks" are also expected, of course, especially the iOS Dark Mode UI and the Messages app, which will receive minor updates, Connor Jewiss said. iPhone Dark Mode debuted in iOS 13, while iOS 14 will bring group chat and other introduced several new messaging tools.

None of these alleged iOS 15 features are outlandish, but it is important to take this Twitter user's information with a grain of salt. They claim to have "seen some iOS 15" but don't have much of a technical leak track record. Nevertheless, much of the information is consistent with what reliable Apple insider Mark Gurman has reported.

We will soon find out what is true with the iOS 15 leaks. We expect Apple to reveal this software on the iPhone 13 series during the WWDC 2021 keynote on June 7.
