Samsung's stunning new 43-inch monitor doubles as a smart TV

Samsung is greatly expanding its lineup of smart monitors. These displays not only display content, but can also be used with all kinds of smart TV apps. They even come with a solar remote control.

The smaller M5 series now includes a 24" 1080p display in addition to 27" and 32" models. The larger lineup is joined by the massive 43-inch 4K M7 model, which is an exciting contender for the best monitor list.

As you might expect, the new smart monitors look sleek with slim bezels and centrally positioned stands. The only question is how practical one would find a 43-inch desktop display. Some will find it too large, while others will treat it as a boon to their productivity-oriented screen area.

Smart monitors offer a variety of features: built on the Tizen operating system, they offer access to streaming video apps such as Netflix and Prime Video, and compatibility with Google Assistant and Alexa. Provide compatibility with Google Assistant and Alexa.

With HDR10 compatibility, built-in speakers, and a solar remote control, the smart monitor can be used as a TV after work.

However, the Smart Monitor also takes productivity into consideration by offering the option to remotely log into Microsoft Office 365 and compatibility with Samsung DeX, which can be accessed on DeX-enabled Galaxy devices like the Galaxy S21. With DeX, a Galaxy phone can be connected and a desktop interface appears on the monitor, allowing the phone to be used as a mini-PC.

Pricing has not yet been revealed, but the 27-inch M5 will be available for $229, while the 32-inch display will cost $399. In other words, we can expect the 24-inch model to cost less than $200 and the large 43-inch model to cost $500.

We look forward to testing the new smart monitors once they are released to see if they live up to their hype.
