Netflix Geeks the Week to Reveal the News of the Big Witcher and the Umbrella Academy

Netflix is ready to announce details of the next seasons of The Witcher and The Umbrella Academy. At least next month, the streaming service will host its first online event.

In an announcement sent to the media today (May 24), Netflix announced that June 7-11 will be Geeked Week. What is Geeked Week, in Netflix's own words, it is practically their own Comic-Con. It is "a free virtual event filled with big news, exciting premieres, and more from the creators of your favorite shows and movies on Netflix."

Netflix did not name the people who would be there, but the email included a mini-poster, listing six properties as the main names. They are "Umbrella Academy," "The Witcher," "The Sandman," "The Cuphead Show! The Umbrella Academy," "Lucifer," and "Masters of the Universe: The Apocalypse. At the bottom of the list are "Resident Evil," "Sweet Tooth," and "Cowboy Bebop."

Netflix Geeked Week will feature "a variety of exclusive news, new trailers, live art, and drop-ins from your favorite stars" about upcoming Netflix series and movies. As mentioned, we would love to know when "The Witcher" Season 2 and "Umbrella Academy" Season 3 will be released.

Netflix Geeked may only offer preview art and new trailers, but both of these shows should mark your calendars for when to apply for a vacation to watch and rewatch the next adventure of Geralt and Hargreaves' children, For fans, it's all about being ready.

The event seems to be about the future of all things geeky on Netflix. The letter to the press reads, "Over the years, Netflix has been fortunate enough to inspire a loyal following of series and films such as 'Stranger Things,' 'Castlevania,' and 'The Old Guard.'

More information on where exactly the event will be held will be posted on the NetflixGeeked social media accounts on Twitter, Instagram, Twitch, and Facebook.
