Soon WhatsApp users will be able to easily migrate their accounts to new phones and phone numbers.

According to a screenshot from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing the ability to move chat and media history from an iPhone to a new Android device WhatsApp is offering the option to migrate accounts to a new phone number on the same page. It offers the option to transfer the account to a new phone number on the same page.

If this beta version is true, it means that migrating accounts to a new phone or phone number will be more convenient.

Currently, the process of changing WhatsApp phones is not easy. Chat backups have been known to fail, not to mention the time it takes to restore years of message history.

Also, WhatsApp already offers a simple tool to change phone numbers, but it only works if you physically maintain the same phone. Going forward, it appears that both processes will be streamlined into a walkthrough of the same settings.

This feature, which WABetaInfo calls 'Chat History Migration,' is in development for both the iOS and Android versions of WhatsApp. This feature is not yet available, but may be incorporated into an update to the app in the near future.
