It's an age-old tale of wagering. When a diamond mine collapses in the frozen wilderness of northern Canada, ice-road truckers rally to cross the icy tundra. [All you have to do is watch Liam Neeson and Laurence Fishburne sit in the cabs of their trucks for a few hours.

"Ice Road" is shaping up to be a pretty big movie, with Netflix paying $18 million for the U.S. distribution rights.

Additionally, Jonathan Hensley is at the helm as writer and director. You've almost certainly seen his previous films, including "Die Hard: Revenge" and "Armageddon". If an action-packed, blockbuster-scale disaster is in the offing, Hensley is nearby.

"Ice Road" is scheduled to arrive on Netflix in the U.S. on June 25, with a screening time yet to be determined. No word yet on when it will be released in other territories, but hopefully international audiences won't have to wait too long.
