The winner will take over the Western Conference's seventh playoff seed and face the second-seeded Suns, while the loser will face the winner of the Spurs-Grizzlies game for the eighth playoff seed and take on the top-seeded Jazz.

The Lakers enter Wednesday night's game as 5.5-point favorites. The over/under is 217.5 points.

The Lakers (42-30) will try to defend their championship after winning the franchise's 17th title in the NBA bubble last season, but this season is far from last year's run. LeBron James and Anthony Davis have missed a combined 63 games this season. James has a sprained right ankle and Davis missed 30 games with a calf strain.

It is surprising that the Warriors (39-33) even made the postseason. Steph Curry's team, which had been four games under .500 before playing the Bucks on April 6, went 16-6, including a season-ending six-game winning streak. In that time, Curry has vaulted into MVP contention. Even LeBron James told reporters, "If you're looking for MVP, I don't know anybody else. If Steph isn't on Golden State's team, what are we looking at?" And yes, the MVP honor will go to Denver's Nikola Jokic, but Curry has certainly made his case.
