Batman Cap Crusader animated Series appearing on Hbo Max — Everything You Need to Know

Fans of the classic "Batman: The Animated Series" are having as much fun as Bruce Wayne is having another party in Gotham. Warner Bros. Animation has announced that the new Dark Knight series "Batman: The Caped Crusader" will air on HBO Max and Cartoon Network. [The animated show is executive produced by JJ Abrams, Matt Reeves and Bruce Timm. Reeves is the director of "Batman" starring Robert Pattinson, and Bruce Timm is the co-creator of the legendary "Batman: The Animated Series" and its popular spin-off "Batman Beyond."

The show has a straight-to-series order from Warner Bros. and confidence in the project is clearly high; WB exec Tom Askeem says: "It's always fun to satisfy the fans' insatiable appetite for Batman. Batman: Caped Crusader will entertain both first-time and dedicated fans, and with such a great creative team, there is no doubt that another future Batman classic is in the works."

[4 While not much has been revealed about the show, it is clear that it draws great inspiration from the seminal Batman: The Animated Series, and in his own statement accompanying the announcement, Sam Register, WB's president of animation, made reference to the iconic 90s series He made reference to the following. [Batman: The Animated Series was a masterpiece that shaped the perception of the Batman character for an entire generation of fans. In that spirit, three master storytellers, J.J., Matt, and Bruce, each with an intuitive understanding and love for the character, have been chosen to create a new series that continues the same groundbreaking legacy."

A moody poster for the series has been released online, and it certainly has the feel of an animated series. The show is most fondly remembered for its portrayal of Gotham City and its surprisingly mature tone for a show whose main purpose was to sell action figures for children.

The three creative leads issued a joint statement: "We are thrilled to be working together to bring this character back and tell an engrossing new story in Gotham City. The series will be thrilling and cinematic, evoking Batman's noir roots, while at the same time cutting more deeply into the psyche of this iconic character. I can't wait to share this new world with you."

A release date for "Batman: Caped Crusader" has not yet been set, but hopefully we won't have to wait long to learn more. As soon as we have new information, we will let you know via BatSignal.
