Oculus Quest2 has become much better for iPhone owners

The Oculus Quest 2 continues to rank at the top of our best VR headsets roundup. And this new update from Facebook (including the first Oculus Quest) allows iPhone users to view lock screen notifications during virtual reality

Oculus update v29 allows your iOS phone's notifications to be Oculus app, routing them through the app and adding new features. Soon, reality interruptions that shatter the VR illusions of the Ouest headset will be a thing of the past.

Currently, this new notification feature is only for iOS, but Facebook adds that Android support will be available "soon." The feature is part of Facebook's broader "Infinite Office" push to allow users to manage their real-world workload in a virtual reality setting. [According to Facebook, notifications will only be displayed to designated users and "... . will not appear to other account holders who are signed in to the headset."

Other new features include the ability for users to superimpose their real-life bodies on the game through the phone's camera; dubbed Live Overlay, the feature can be combined with the VR app's recording and casting options.

If you're interested in a more serviceable update, Facebook has also introduced a new file management utility that offers the ability to "access, view, manage, share, and upload files on the headset in multiple locations within VR."

If all of this has you excited, check out our article on where to buy the Oculus Quest 2 and see if you can purchase it yourself, as there have been recent inventory issues. While there are more expensive and arguably more capable headsets on the market, such as the Valve Index and the HTC Vive, the Quest 2's value for money is unmatched. And features like Air Link, which allows users to wirelessly connect the Oculus Quest 2 to a PC, make VR even easier. On the active Virtual Reality subreddit, many people recommend the Oculus Quest 2 over others for this feature alone, although many lament the need to create and link a Facebook account.
