Ewan McGregor of Obi・Wan Kenobi made fun of a "very special" cameo

Ewan McGregor has teased a huge cameo in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney Plus series. The actor said the scene will be filmed on May 4, aka Star Wars Day, and will feature a "very special" character.

The actor earlier this week on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to share this story, and when asked for more details, he offered minimal clues. Asked if the cast did anything in honor of Star Wars Day, McGregor emphatically said yes, saying he was able to shoot a "very special scene" on May 4. He also described the actors in the scene as "very special people" in McGregor's life.

Kimmel attempted to get one or two more stories out of the Obi-Wan Kenobi star, asking if the "someone special" was someone the audience had previously seen McGregor filming with.

"No... I don't think so," McGregor replied. When Kimmel pressed him on whether the mystery actor was someone "in some way" related to McGregor, the response was not so clear. McGregor replied, "No, not necessarily," but this particular question was not iced.

As for the cast of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, McGregor is reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader with Hayden Christensen, Joel Edgerton as Owen Lars (Luke's uncle), Beru Lars (Luke's aunt) He will reprise his role with Bonnie Piesse.

McGregor further revealed that his character's costume is "a little different" than what fans expect. The show also appears to utilize the same technology as "The Mandalorian," with the blue screen of the "Star Wars" prequel being eliminated in favor of the giant LED screens that make up the series' virtual set.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi show does not yet have a confirmed release date, but we expect it to premiere on Disney Plus next year.

Big cameos are something of a trend in Disney Plus programming. After Luke Skywalker's cameo in The Mandalorian, Paul Bettany teased that he had filmed an important scene with an actor he was looking forward to working with.

This led fans to speculate that a mutant like Magneto would appear in the series. It turned out that Bethany was referring to herself, playing as Vision opposite White Vision, and was just trolling.
