Here is our first look at Lotus3 Million Lotus Evija

British car company Lotus has created something special in Norfolk: the 2.4 million pound Evija, an all-electric hypercar that ushers in a new era for the sports car brand, boasting over 1,600 horsepower, limited to 130 units, Anyone with an Elon Musk-level fund will be in for an incredible thrill ride. However, Elon will not be purchasing one of these cars, as he has an update for his Tesla Roadster on the way.

Lotus has some connection to the electric car world. The first Tesla Roadster was based on the Lotus Elise and was actually built at the Lotus factory before being shipped to California. It was probably some of that work that inspired Lotus in this new car concept. Interestingly, the Elise only claims a 0-60 mph time of "under 3 seconds." Elon claims the Roadster's time is under 2 seconds. However, we will have to wait and see if that is actually the case.

Anyway, Top Gear magazine took a test drive in the prototype and gave its first drive impressions of the shocks and screams one would expect from a car of this type. The speed is clearly something else, and the magazine's editor, Jack Ricks, explains that this is not even a finished car and is running at about 75% power at this point.

What is clear now is that the car looks truly spectacular. At the rear are two huge Venturi tunnels surrounded by LED lights. These tunnels are not for show, but to feed air into the diffuser to generate downforce.

According to Lotus, the car will have a top speed of over 200 mph and a range of 215 miles.

Unsurprisingly, the car is clearly targeted at those who expect to spend time on the track; while not featured in the Top Gear video, the Lotus site offers a sensational touch-sensitive control of key driving controls The Lotus site shows a sleek, lightweight carbon fiber interior with a sensational center console with touch-sensitive control of key driving controls. Clearly weight management is key here, and this little pocket rocket is likely to achieve amazing benchmarks.

But Lotus is not done burning yet. While Evya offers exciting prospects for the future, the company still plans to unveil a new car in July that will use fossil fuels. However, this will be the last ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicle the company will produce, with more EVs to come in the next few years.

Of course, that is terribly out of reach. So perhaps the rest of us can put up with a Tesla Model 3 or a Livian RT1.
