Tesla Cyber Truck Camp Add-on just got 5 50 million dollars in pre-order

The Cyber Rundle, a folding camping unit that fits in the back of a Tesla Cybertruck, captured the imagination of outdoor enthusiasts when it was unveiled last month. The excitement of pooping in a cybertruck has been contagious, and the concept has now attracted more than $50 million in potential orders.

Like pre-orders for future Tesla cars, Cyberland reservations are fully refundable, which may explain why people are willing to plunk down cash for a product that has only been shown in 3D renderings. For example, Tesla founder Elon Musk was able to claim immense interest in the CyberTruck by touting pre-orders of over 500,000 units. However, reserving a cybertruck requires only a $100 down payment.

In a press release, the co-founder of Cyberland offered his reaction to the swell of pre-orders.

"We believe this enthusiasm is a direct result of people envisioning how this new adventure vehicle can improve their lives," said Bill French, co-founder and chief analytics officer of Stream It, the company that developed CyberLandr. People are talking about many new uses for both wilderness and urban adventures. For example, parents at sports games, boondocking and overland travel to places inaccessible to traditional RVs, etc. Because the CyberLandr is so easy to transport, we expect it to be used two to three times more than a traditional RV."

Pre-orders for CyberLandr vary. The higher the down payment, the greater the discount the buyer will get when the camper is finally shipped; the $5,000 pre-order is already sold out and the buyer will receive a 20% discount. Since Cyberland's price is $50,000, the 20% discount is significant.

The Cyberland concept, a three-tier folding camper that fits snugly into the back of a Tesla Cybertruck trunk, seems far-fetched, but it is certainly imaginative. Inside, there is a large sink with an induction plate, as well as a TV and two chairs that extend to a bed. When fully extended, the top of the cyber-rundle will also have a solar panel.

Of course, it is the compostable toilet in the back that has drawn the most attention on the Internet.

Lance King, CEO of Stream It. feels that CyberLandr still has a lot of sales potential. His team estimates that less than 10% of those who pre-order a Cybertruck have heard of CyberLandr.

"We conservatively estimate the demand for CyberLandr to be over 10,000 units by 2022," King said in a press release.

"That's why we're working with Munro & Associates, a consultant known for its lean manufacturing methods, to help us scale up manufacturing to meet demand while ensuring high quality."

While cool, this has not stopped the Internet from comparing it to the Top Gear camper van challenge.
