A new electric car called the "Airo" was unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show. Not only does it emit no harmful emissions, but it also filters London's toxic air, creating a better London for all.

The car uses a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter that actually cleans pollution from the air. This process takes place as exhaust gases from other cars pass under the car, purifying the air as it drives.

The car was manufactured by IM Motors in China. The Airo has both manual and autonomous driving modes, and IM Motors plans to begin production in 2023.

The seats are arranged so that all four people are facing each other, and the car drives itself while you have a nice meal or business meeting. The car can even be converted into a bedroom, appealing to the 99.6% of TikTok creators who live in cars or converted vans.

An attached charging station has also been designed to successfully avoid the problems of owning an electric car in the city. This is for those without driveways or off-street parking. The stick-like charging pole has a power cord that can be connected to a car. If placed on a curbside, they can be charged without disturbing pedestrians. [Thomas Heatherwick, founder of Heatherwick Studio, says, "The Airo is not simply an electric car that doesn't pollute the air. Instead, it goes further by using the latest HEPA filter technology, which also draws pollutants from other vehicles while driving. Designed to address the global shortage of space, the Airo is also a multifunctional room with extra space for eating, working, gaming, or sleeping. As a new room for our lives, along with a changing landscape, the Airo is a vehicle intended to transport us to a cleaner and better future"

Heatherwick Studio also designed the London route buses. The iconic design was immensely popular and appealed to people living in a nostalgic mood, prompting then-mayor Boris Johnson to commission the company to create a modern version. The bus is something of a joke, mostly because Heatherwick was ignored when he said that having windows that open might be a good idea.

Hopefully, either a great air conditioner, which the new Routemaster did not have, or windows that open will be installed in the Airo. The latter would allow the occupants to enjoy clean air.
