Apple has unveiled a new look for the iPhone 12 in the form of a vibrant new color. starting April 30, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini will come in a deep purple that stands out among the shades Apple has released in the past.

The only thing different about the purple iPhone 12 is the coloring. Otherwise, it will feature the same A14 processor, OLED screen, and dual-camera setup as the other iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini models. There will also be a new purple wallpaper, but you don't necessarily have to opt for the latest iPhone 12 to add that look to your current iPhone 12 model.

9to5Mac has posted a pair of iPhone 12 friendly screens that show off the purple-inspired look of the new iPhone. If you are browsing from your iPhone you can either right click or long press on the image. It will allow you to save the image to use as wallpaper on your phone, even if you don't wind up buying a new iPhone 12 model.

Apple's announcement with the purple iPhone 12 is quite an eye-catching look. The ripple from light purple to purple makes for a striking look, even if you choose one of the other iPhone 12 colors. (To recap, previous iPhone 12 colors include black, white, mint green, blue, and [Project] red versions.

Pre-orders for the purple iPhone 12 will begin on Friday (April 23) and arrive in stores on April 30. Like the other iPhone 12 models, this version starts at $799, locked to the carrier. The iPhone 12 mini, which adds a purple version, also starts at $699.
