Samsung's new Galaxy Z Flip smartphone will hit store shelves in eight different color variations, if new leaked information is to be believed. The new clamshell device will come in white, gray, dark blue, and pink variants.

Previous information has suggested that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 may come in green, black, beige, and light violet color options. The new color variations will add to these four color options later this year.

GSMArena.com, citing Dutch website GalaxyClub, suggests that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 will offer a further range of colors for users to choose from.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 features a light violet colorway, a fan favorite for its iridescent sheen. The news that a pink variation will be added will certainly offset the more subdued colorway on offer, and will force users to choose a more adventurous palette for the Galaxy Z Flip 3.

As is usual with reports on smartphone colors, it is unlikely that all markets will have equal access to the same color options.

Eight colors may seem like an abundance of choices for customers, but Korean companies will likely divide the options among different markets, possibly limiting access in some markets and reserving certain colorways for special occasions in others.

The announcement of more color options for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 goes some way to assure us that the clamshell device is inbound and will definitely be there. Reports indicate that the device will be available later this year, along with the possible release of the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Information regarding the performance specs of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is still quite difficult to confirm at this stage. However, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is expected to boast a premium spec sheet and a correspondingly high price tag.

The Snapdragon888 processor may be Samsung's obvious choice as the high-end SoC to power this device, but even this has not been confirmed so far.

In any case, it's good to hear different news that breaks away from the usual naming convention mystery that has baffled Samsung fans over the device's name. And if the news is as lighthearted and fun as the colors, even better.
