OnePlus9 and 9Pro just got an update to make that camera even better

OnePlus introduced the very capable OnePlus 9 series last month. Since then, many updates have been made, the latest being security fixes and camera improvements with the release of OxygenOS 11.2.4.4.

And the OnePlus 9 has healed a dent in the brand's longstanding armor by addressing the OnePlus 8's camera shortcomings, but there is always room for improvement.

A quick series of updates in March 2021 provided a number of security patches and overheating fixes in addition to connectivity and camera fixes, while the April update bundles more notable camera improvements for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. [Two of the new updates focus on the OnePlus rear camera, one of which takes aim at the model's white balance and improves the way the rear camera adjusts additive primary colors.

This means that white is depicted in the image when red, green, and blue are balanced. Next, there is an update to stop oversharpening of the rear camera, which has been reported as an issue in autofocus mode.

Another update addresses image purity and ambiance performance. The complete changelog, including system and security fixes, can be found below.

According to XDA Developers, OxygenOS 11.2.4.4 was found on the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro units in India, but should soon be applicable to the OnePlus 9 and its variants in other markets.

The update is being rolled out gradually so that any issues are known and fixed before it is applied to the majority of OnePlus 9 devices. If you can't wait that long, you can also sideload it manually from the Oxygen Updater, but this is only possible if the OTA file is available for download.
