Chrome introduces the new features of Genius to make life easier

Google has rolled out a new "Copy Link to Highlight" feature in Chrome that allows users to link to specific segments of highlighted text for easy sharing with others.

One of several new productivity-focused features in Chrome 90, this new tool allows users to pinpoint the information they want to share and link directly to it. Clicking on the link will take you directly to the highlighted section, rather than to the top of the page to find related information.

The ability to copy links to highlights first appeared in Chrome Canary in late 2020.

A wider rollout of this feature was confirmed by Adrienne Porter Felt, Director of Engineering at Google Chrome.

A recent Chrome extension, "Link to Text Fragment," which provided the same functionality in Chromium and Chrome, is now becoming a native feature of the Chrome browser and is included with the recent stable release of Chrome 90.

If you ever need to share a given text fragment with someone, follow these steps.

. This is simple, but very effective for wordy blogs or long-form details. This follows a number of updates to the Chrome platform, including a sharing hub for Chrome desktop and improved auto-typing.

Google will be rolling out this feature to desktop and Android Chrome 90 users starting next week. The feature will also be available soon for iOS.
