Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 can get this super powerful "armor frame"

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 rumors paint a rather premium picture of the foldable flagship model. But it's not just the internals that will be upgraded; Samsung is reportedly considering enhancing the device's durability with a brand new frame. And the Galaxy Z Flip 3 should get the same upgrade.

LetsGoDigital has found trademark applications in Korea, the US, and Europe for what is called an "Armor Frame." The description simply says "smartphone frame," indicating that Samsung may be rolling out the Galaxy Z Fold 3 with a much sturdier frame than the previous model.

This may or may not be related to the "blade bezel" patent filed by the Korean manufacturer last year. The flat, thin edges of this design may require an overhauled frame that is sturdier than the aluminum one currently used by the Galaxy S21 series.

The trademark does not delve into the material of the armored frame, but it will likely be something other than aluminum or the stainless steel frame of the Galaxy Note 20. If the "zero bezel" report by Korean website The Elec is true, Samsung will need to reinforce the frame to be as sturdy as possible to avoid a repeat of the Galaxy Fold's initial launch.

LetsGoDigital speculates that a titanium or carbon frame will be used. These metals are lighter and more durable than aluminum. The only downside is that more expensive materials will be used, which could bump up the price of the device.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 could put a significant dent in your wallet with its "top secret" processor, under display camera (UDC), and rumored to be the first Samsung phone to come out of a new partnership with Olympus.

Folding specs are still up in the air, and rumors and leaks suggest all kinds of redesigns, including the possibility of a smaller 4-inch exterior display; Elec's latest report suggests that the exterior display will not shrink at all and will remain 6.2 inches The report suggests that the outer display will not shrink at all and will remain at 6.2 inches.

Samsung will reportedly unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 3 later this year, as early as July. First, the Galaxy Book Pro will debut at the Galaxy Unpacked event on April 28.
