Good news, readers! Seasons 3 and 4 of Bridgerton have been renewed by Netflix. Lady Wistledown is sharpening her pen at this very moment. [Bridgerton Season 2 is already in production. We're still mourning the fact that Rouget-Jean Page won't be back as the sexy duke, but there's plenty of romance in store for fans as they follow Sir Anthony Bridgerton's (Jonathan Bailey) journey to find his bride. And "Bridgerton" Season 3 and Season 4 will continue the love story of the brother and sister family of the same name.

In a statement, executive producer Shonda Rhimes said, "From the first time we read Julia Quinn's delicious Bridgerton series, we knew these were stories that would captivate our audience. However, the evolution of this adaptation would not have succeeded without the many important contributions of the entire Shondaland team."

"This two-season pickup is a strong vote of confidence in our work and we are incredibly grateful to have such a collaborative and creative partner as Netflix. Betsy (Beers) and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue bringing the world of Bridgerton to viewers around the world."

So what will Season 3 and Season 4 of Bridgerton deal with? Season 1 is based on Julia Quinn's book The Duke and I, and Season 2 is based on her second novel, The Viscount Who Loved Me. So the show will probably move on to adaptations of her third and fourth books. However, "Bridgerton" as a series has deviated from the books in several ways and will continue to do so.

Season 3 of "Bridgerton" will likely be based on Quinn's third novel, An Offer From a Gentleman, which focuses on Benedict Bridgerton. He is Bridgerton's second sibling, played by Luke Thompson in the show.

The novel is essentially a Cinderella story, with Sophie Becket, the daughter of an earl, as the main character. She meets Benedict at a masquerade ball and falls in love with him. Later, however, while searching for the mysterious woman, Benedict also begins to have feelings for the maid!

It is unclear if "Bridgerton" Season 3 will definitely continue Sophie's storyline. On the show, Benedict has a relationship with modish Genevieve Delacroix. And there was an emphasis on his encounter with a more edgy, open-minded community of artists. I can see Benedict Bridgerton getting into Cinderfella.

Bridgerton Season 4 may adapt a story from Quinn's fourth book, Romancing Mister Bridgerton, featuring Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Fetherington. Colin is Bridgerton's third oldest son, played by Luke Newton in the show.

In the novel, Colin returned from an overseas trip and went on an international adventure in the finale, which coincides nicely with the show. Upon his return, he is surprised by his reaction to his longtime friend and neighbor Penelope (Nicolas Coughlan). Colin is unaware that Penelope has been in love with him for years. But Pen has a pen name secret - she is Lady Whistledown - that could ruin their relationship forever.
