Films that have been a constant feature at nearly every awards ceremony this season, such as "Nomadland," "Father," "Judas and the Black Messiah," and "Promising Young Woman," were of course heavily featured, earning nominations in multiple categories.

The acting categories boast the most diverse nomination lineup of any awards category. Actors from ethnic minorities have been nominated, including Daniel Kaluuya, Bukky Bakley, and Riz Ahmed.

In a further innovation, this year's BAFTAs will be held across two award ceremonies: the BAFTA Opening Night 2021 will air on BBC Two on Saturday, April 10 at 8 pm BST/3 pm ET, and the full-length BAFTA Film Awards 2021 will air on BBC One on Sunday, April 11 at 9 p.m. BST/4 p.m. ET.

Unfortunately, but understandably, the red carpet will be canceled this year, and most stars will accept their awards at home in front of their laptop webcams rather than in London's Royal Albert Hall.
